Rush Hour Protest - Protest on the 20th

Following last month's protest on the 20, TheStonerArmy has teamed up with NORML@UCF to bring it back to the streets.

"Hey guys, we will be out protesting the drug war once again on Friday, June 20th. We will meet on campus at the front of the Student Union and from there we will move out to some intersections around the city. The action will only be a few hours, with us meeting around 3 at the Union, leaving around 3:15-3:30, and finishing up around 6-6:30. Anyone interested in becoming more involved in the club should come out, as well as anyone who has some free time and cares about the cause. Last time we did this the turnout wasn't the best, but we got very positive responses from people driving around and got a ton of letters (concerning the decriminalization bill and the medical marijuana bill going through Congress right now) signed.

Peace,
Troy
NORML@UCF"

Remember, protesting is a right given to you by freedom of speech.   Go to the store and buy a thick foam board for $2 and some markers and you have a sign that will last.  You don't need a large group to let others know how you feel.  If any of your friends have free time, get them to join you.  If you are interested in protesting, send me an email letting me know what city you are in and I will get you some contact information for organizations in the area that have members who will probably join.  Be sure to send us your pictures of your protest.

Currently there are a few resolutions before the U.S. Congress.  These are H.R. 5842, H.R. 5843, and the Hinchey-Rohrabacher Amendment.  Read up on them and let your representatives know they need to support these resolutions.
And for those of you in Florida, as you may have heard, we lost a NORML and SSDP soldier from FSU after she was murdered while being used as a confidential informant by the Tallahassee Police Department.  A marijuana arrest lead to her being a CI with $13,000 for guns, coke and ecstasy.  In response to this, Rachel's family is trying to push for "Rachel Law" which would help prevent needless deaths like these.
